Getting There

You can fly into and out of Palma de Mallorca Airport. We spend two nights in Palma as part of the trip.

1

Day 1

Palma

We meet in Palma at our first hotel at 2pm; after bike fit, we enjoy an optional warm-up ride along the beaches east of town, much of it along a bike path or road (your choice). Palma is a fantastic cosmopolitan city with lots to see and do.  We will meet for a welcome reception at 7pm and then dinner. Buen provecho!

Distance: 16 km; 80 m gain or 27 km; 140 m gain or 54 km; 360 m gain

2

Day 2

Palma

Today we’ll explore the southwest of the island with a loop to Andratx riding the magnificent road to Banyalbufar looping back to Palma in the early afternoon in time to relax on the beach. We will enjoy a walking tour at 5:30pm, and then dine out at a favourite restaurant. With its buzzy atmosphere and plethora of great restaurants and cafés, staying a second night in Palma is ideal.

Distance: 44 km; 650 m gain or 85 km; 1,640 m gain

3

Day 3

Port de Soller

Ride on bike lanes from Palma towards Palmanyola and Santa Maria del Cami to Alaro, where the famous Cycling Planet café awaits; can there be a more cycling friendly place to enjoy a cup of coffee? Once caffeinated, climb up to Orient and the restaurant Dalt Muntanya for lunch on their superb terrace. Then on (and up) over Col de Soller, where you may be tempted to stop at Ca’n Topa Café, filled with photos of pro cyclists who stop here for Paula’s carrot cake. Descend to Soller and then 6km further Port Soller with its spectacular oceanside setting. We will have dinner at Patiki Beach, a farm-to-table chiringuito.

Distance: 44 km; 600 m gain or 70 km; 1,120 m gain

4

Day 4

Port de Soller

Today ride a spectacular route to posh Deija and eclectic Valldemossa chock full of cool restaurants and designer shops; we’ll lead you to our favourite restaurant for lunch. There is a short, hilly add-on if you are interested.  In the early afternoon, arrive back to Port de Soller. This is your OYO night and you might consider  taking a historic (c 1912) train car to Soller for dinner or stroll to one of the oceanside restaurants near the hotel in Port de Soller.

Distance: 45 km; 950 m gain or 50 km; 1,120 m gain or 60 km; 1,260 m

5

Day 5

Port de Pollenca

Today, we start the day with an invigorating climb to the charming village of Fornalutx where you can stop at a cool bakery. The climb continues up and over col de Puig Major. If you want to challenge yourself on Sa Calobra, this is an option- you’ll get bragging rights from us! Enjoy a glorious descent to Pollenca where lunch awaits and then Port de Pollenca beachside village and gateway to Cap Formentor. Dinner will be at one of the many great restaurants here.

Day 6

Port de Pollenca

Arguably the most beautiful ride on Mallorca, treat yourself to the ride of your life out to Cap Formentor. Have more jam? Ride south along the coast to the historic city of Alcudia which has a Roman amphitheatre, medieval and Renaissance quarters, and a sophisticated tapas culture all enclosed within thick, crenellated walls. The ride back along the Bay of Pollenca passing miles of beaches where kite surfers and other beach goers chill is sublime.
