Giro D’Italia Biking

The 2019 Giro D’Italia is much anticipated this year with a roster of pros eager to compete for the coveted pink jersey. Chris Froome has committed to racing and will attempt to complete a career triple crown of Grand Tours, a feat only six riders in the history have achieved. Our 7 day trip will start from Milan with a 9 am meeting and transfer to Iseo to begin riding towards Lake Garda. We will see 5 stages live on this trip so you will be up close to the action to get your fill of the excitement of this Grand Tour. Each of our trip hotels is close to the race course, so this means less driving time and more time riding. We accommodate a variety of riding abilities- each day we will present options so that you can challenge yourself to the level that YOU want to. We include amazing meals, wine tastings, and other events that promise to make your trip the best possible. And because we operate our own trips, the only surprises will be good ones. Join us in 2019?

Prince Edward County Gran Fondo

To register:

The County Gran Fondo is a beautifully scenic ride through the bucolic, vineyard studded scenery of Prince Edward County, Ontario. Starting from Isaiah Tubbs on West Lake, you will cruise through Sandbanks Provincial Park, past vineyards that have made the county famous, visit villages including Milford, Picton & Wellington, and ride quiet roads in between.

Sunshine Coast Mountain Bike Trail Challenge

The sunshine coast is a short (and scenic!) ferry ride from Vancouver. Our first day’s ride will begin from Halfmoon Bay, only 45 minutes north of the Langdale ferry terminal;utilizing a combination of existing trail systems, deactivated forestry roads and single track trail, our route will take us (35 km-elevation gain of 700m) to Porpoise Bay. Sunday, the ride will continue south out of Porpoise Bay (45 km -elevation gain is 1300 m) across Mt. Elphinstone, to Langdale and a finish-line celebration.

Tour de France Alps Biking

The Tour de France will be celebrating its centenary in 2019 – the first was held in 1919. Great Explorations will be back at the Tour in 2019 and eagerly awaits the chase for the yellow jersey. For us, going to the Tour has been as much about our ride as watching the pros. Nothing can match riding on closed roads lined with thousands of fans, over hors categorie cols, joining in the festivities of the race. Team Sky will be an obvious favourite, but anything can happen at the Tour de France. Finishing in Paris, staying in the same hotel as the pros will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
