Chile Biking – Luxe

Chile is a country sandwiched between the dramatic Andes and the Pacific Ocean, stretching from the Atacama Desert in the north, to Patagonia and Torres del Paine in the south. The best biking is along the Central coast region, where fertile valleys dotted with haciendas, pretty villages, and vineyards await. A mix of European and indigenous influences, not to mention stunning hotels and world-class wines, make Chile an exotic and rewarding destination.

Alsace Biking – Classic

Alsace is located in northeastern France, that actually straddles (geographically and culturally) Germany and Switzerland as well. Boasting a wealth of extraordinary art and architecture, the region is equally known for its wine and culinary offerings (There are more Michelin starred restaurants here than anywhere else in France). Through medieval villages with half-timbered houses, along quiet waterways and over vineyard covered hills, Alsace is an idyllic region waiting to be discovered by bike.

Tour de France Alps Biking

The Tour de France will be celebrating its centenary in 2019 - the first was held in 1919. Great Explorations will be back at the Tour in 2019 and eagerly awaits the chase for the yellow jersey. For us, going to the Tour has been as much about our ride as watching the pros. Nothing can match riding on closed roads lined with thousands of fans, over hors categorie cols, joining in the festivities of the race. Team Sky will be an obvious favourite, but anything can happen at the Tour de France. Finishing in Paris, staying in the same hotel as the pros will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Amsterdam to Bruges Biking

Although the Dutch didn’t invent the bicycle, almost everyone in the country (including the king) rides one; the cycling infrastructure in both villages and throughout the countryside is superb. Cycling from the cosmopolitan city of Amsterdam to the charming village of Bruges, Belgium, you will experience the best of these two countries. From the Unesco World Heritage site of the Kinderdijk windmills to the chocolate makers in Bruges, this is a unique journey in Europe.

Ireland Biking

Having cycled all over Ireland, we have found the western coast region including the Burren, Aran Islands and Connemara to have the most spectacular scenery, with a tremendous abundance of historical monuments, a rich and unique culture, warm and inviting people, and surprisingly few tourists. The hotels and food are a highlight with genuine hospitality. This is one of our favourite tours!

Giro D’Italia Biking

The 2019 Giro D’Italia is much anticipated this year with a roster of pros eager to compete for the coveted pink jersey. Chris Froome has committed to racing and will attempt to complete a career triple crown of Grand Tours, a feat only six riders in the history have achieved. Our 7 day trip will start from Milan with a 9 am meeting and transfer to Iseo to begin riding towards Lake Garda. We will see 5 stages live on this trip so you will be up close to the action to get your fill of the excitement of this Grand Tour. Each of our trip hotels is close to the race course, so this means less driving time and more time riding. We accommodate a variety of riding abilities- each day we will present options so that you can challenge yourself to the level that YOU want to. We include amazing meals, wine tastings, and other events that promise to make your trip the best possible. And because we operate our own trips, the only surprises will be good ones. Join us in 2019?

Poland Biking

Poland, has seen its urban centers modernize with the introduction of stylish hotels and restaurants. In the countryside, a rustic charm remains- ancient castles, horse-drawn carriages, and lush river valleys beckon touring cyclists. We have designed this tour to take advantage of the gentle Dunajec River Valley. We visit two National Parks and many sites listed by Unesco, including magnificent Krakow, the historic salt mine at Wieliczka, the enigmatic wooden churches and more. Many companies offering tours rush through Poland enroute to Slovakia or Hungary. Why rush?
