Trips by Destination
Spain has three distinct regions that offer tempting cycling destinations. In the north, between Pamplona and Santiago de Compostella, is the Camino de Santiago, an ancient pilgrimage trail that is a journey through history. James Michener calls it one of the best 3 journeys in the world- it is, especially by bike. Then there is Catalonia, or Costa Brava (wild coast) north of Barcelona in a region that boasts some of the best food and wine in Europe and a climate that is pleasant April through October.
In the south, Spain is at its most flamboyant; the cities of Cordoba, Carmona and Seville are filled with Moorish architecture, enchanting streets with tiled courtyards, flamenco music and a steet theatre that invites participation. Our trip here features luxurious hotels and gentle cycling; we recommend going in springtime where the climate is ideal and air festive.
