Winter Ski & Ride

The US West trip will start from Aspen, Colorado on January 10th to coincide with Winsterskol Festival and will include three days at Aspen, and three days at Alta/Snowbird. The Canada West trip will start on January 16th and include three days at Lake Louise and three days at Whistler Blackcomb.
Only Great Explorations:
• Small groups, extraordinary guides, and authentic experiences
• Wine included at first and final night receptions
• We design and operate our own trips so there are only good surprises

FAQ: Why a ski/ride trip and why the resorts listed?
We love to ride our bikes in spring, summer, fall; in winter, we head to the mountains. We thought to invite others to join in our idea of ‘A Dream Trip’.
Why the mountains listed?
The Mountain Collective is a pass program that allows for up to 14 days skiing at North America’s best resorts for a mere $389. That seemed to be a great deal, but the logistics of getting between resorts and hassle or organizing hotels intimidates some. With our local experience and contacts, we felt we could offer something unique and attract the same spirited people who join our bike trips.
How many people will join?
We have space for just 16 clients, so space is limited. This trip is guaranteed to go as founder and owner of Great Explorations, Robbin McKinney, was the first to sign up.
Who are the local guides?
Many of our bike guides are winter guides also. We will have at least one former Olympian join for ½ day on each of the trips. A tour coordinator will be on hand to ensure all of the logistics are seamless.
How do I sign up?
Fill in our online registration form, just as you would for a bike trip. We’ll send you everything you’ll need to know.
What if I have to cancel?
For this trip, we strongly encourage cancellation insurance; as soon as we receive your booking, the full amount is payable and non-refundable. The reason is simply that we have to commit (and pay) for hotel accommodation to ensure we have space.
